Fire Rescue
Eternal Love
During an early morning response to a house
fire, firefighters were amazed...
A Mother dog risked her life to save her puppies
from the fire surrounding the burning house...
The Mother dog, Amanda, raced back and forth
between the house, putting her 10 day old puppies in the safest place she could find - a Fire Truck! ....
As an onlooker photographed it with his cell
phone after she already had a few in one of the truck's equipment compartments.
She didn't stop racing back into the smoke and fire until all of her puppies
were safely away from the fire.
The firemen on scene
could not believe their eyes. Most people have never seen a dog this smart or
this brave! Bringing each one out, six trips into the fire.
All the firemen could do was to try to keep a
little water spray on her to keep from singing as she kept making trips running
through the open door. You can see some of the singed hair on her back end,
forehead and lower legs. After rescuing all of her pups from the blaze, Amanda
sat down next to them to nurse, protecting them with her body. Onlookers called
an emergency veterinary service, and she and her pups were rushed to the
hospital. Aside from one puppy being treated for serious burns, the entire
family are alive and well! Thanks to the bravery of Amanda! What a heroic
mother! How Great!!!

TAKE JOY IN .... OLD DOGS
TAKE
JOY IN…..OLD DOGS
Their joys are simple. A soft bed. A scrap fallen from the table that the younger dogs missed. The memory of a... treed squirrel. A stormless night.
White whiskered faces and legs crooked as question marks.
Old Dogs…their sweet Buddha bellies hang over crossed legs as they fall asleep in a coveted patch of sun. Dreaming of out-racing their shadows down long, shady lanes.
Once they danced by your side. The very definition of joy unleashed. A perfect poem caught in shining eyes and wagging tails. They have followed you faithfully for years. And would plunge into fires, untamed wildernesses, raging waters if you asked.
Now, they struggle to catch up. Their pace slow but their hearts still valiant. Their cloudy eyes are starting to dim and go distant, tuning in to some invisible world. Just beyond your reach.
Don’t go you say, as you scratch the tender part between their ears. Stay longer. I can’t imagine a world without your fur pressed close to my cheek. There are still so many roads we haven’t explored.
And they look up at you with a wisdom that just slays you.
Their backs are bent, not from the weight of years, but from the invisible wings they are growing that will soon take them to a place where once more they are warriors of speed. Drunk with the sights and scents of a thousand meadows. Able to leap high enough to touch the wing of the tiniest butterfly.
A place where they will now wait for you to catch up.

breaking moos
Here at CareMoo, we know that farm animals need just as much
compassion as any other animal. So why doesn't the Animal Welfare Act include
livestock in its legal protections?
please share
it helps!
|
You might know that the Animal Welfare Act effectively protects dogs, cats, and lots of other animals from cruelty at the hands of humans. But did you know that its protections don't extend to pigs, chickens, sheep, goats, and -- you guessed it -- cows?
Unfortunately, the current industry standard means that farm animals are often subjected to even greater levels of cruelty than your average pet. In large factory farms, livestock animals frequently face inhuamne conditions before being sent off to the slaughterhouse. And because they're not covered under the Animal Welfare Act, they have no legal protection on the federal level.
Here at CareMoo, we believe every animal should be treated with kindness and compassion, including livestock. That's why we're asking you to urge the USDA to extend the Animal Welfare Act to cover farm animals -- because cows have feelings too!
