CareMoo Breaking Moos
breaking moos
Here at CareMoo, we know that farm animals need just as much compassion as any other animal. So why doesn't the Animal Welfare Act include livestock in its legal protections?

You might know that the Animal Welfare Act effectively protects dogs, cats, and lots of other animals from cruelty at the hands of humans. But did you know that its protections don't extend to pigs, chickens, sheep, goats, and -- you guessed it -- cows?
Unfortunately, the current industry standard means that farm animals are often subjected to even greater levels of cruelty than your average pet. In large factory farms, livestock animals frequently face inhuamne conditions before being sent off to the slaughterhouse. And because they're not covered under the Animal Welfare Act, they have no legal protection on the federal level.
Here at CareMoo, we believe every animal should be treated with kindness and compassion, including livestock. That's why we're asking you to urge the USDA to extend the Animal Welfare Act to cover farm animals -- because cows have feelings too!
